A delicious one-pan meal combining creamy sauce, Italian sausage, and crunchy broccoli.

- 12 oz cheese tortellini
- 1 lb Italian sausage (mild or spicy), crumbled
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 2 tbsp butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil or parsley, chopped, for garnish
Instructions
- Cook the tortellini according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, cook the crumbled Italian sausage over medium heat until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the sausage from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the chicken broth and bring to a simmer, scraping up any bits from the bottom of the skillet.
- Stir in the heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, red pepper flakes (if using), salt, and pepper. Cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring frequently, until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Add the broccoli florets to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes until tender.
- Return the sausage and tortellini to the skillet, tossing everything together until well coated in the creamy sauce.
- Garnish with fresh basil or parsley before serving.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider adding Italian herbs. Use frozen tortellini for quick preparation and substitute sausage for ground turkey or alternatives if desired.
