A comforting and delicious one-pot meal featuring hearty bowtie pasta, flavorful meats, and a creamy garlic butter sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound bowtie pasta
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound Italian sausage, casings removed
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 10 ounces frozen spinach, thawed and squeezed dry
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Cook the bowtie pasta according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the ground beef and Italian sausage. Cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned. Drain excess grease.
  4. Add the chopped onion to the skillet. Cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  5. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  6. Stir in the thawed spinach. Cook until heated through.
  7. In a separate large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  8. Whisk in the flour until smooth. Gradually whisk in the milk and chicken broth until there are no lumps.
  9. Bring to a simmer, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
  10. Stir in the heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, mozzarella cheese, Cajun seasoning, Italian seasoning, and smoked paprika. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  11. Stir until the cheese melts and the sauce is creamy.
  12. Add the cooked pasta, the beef and sausage mixture, and spinach to the cheese sauce. Stir to combine and coat everything evenly.
  13. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for about 3-4 days. Reheat in the microwave in short intervals, stirring often.
