Description
A comforting dish featuring savory meatballs in a rich creamy sauce with colorful bell peppers and onions, perfect for weeknight dinners.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef (or beef/pork mix)
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- Salt & pepper, to taste
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
- 1/2 onion, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 3/4 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Combine meatball ingredients and form them into 1-inch balls.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sear meatballs on all sides until browned. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, cook sliced peppers, onion, and minced garlic until tender.
- Stir in heavy cream, beef broth, and Dijon mustard. Return meatballs to the skillet and simmer for 10–12 minutes until cooked through.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot over rice, pasta, or mashed potatoes.
Notes
Meatball consistency matters; avoid overmixing for tenderness. For spice, add red pepper flakes. Consider topping with grated Parmesan cheese.
