Description

A rich and flavorful seafood bisque made with tender crab meat and succulent shrimp in a creamy base, perfect for impressing guests.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 lb (450g) crab meat (fresh or canned)
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cups seafood or fish stock
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic; sauté until softened and translucent.
  2. Add the shrimp and crab meat to the pot and cook until the shrimp turn pink.
  3. Pour in the seafood stock and bring to a simmer. Reduce heat and let it cook for 10-15 minutes.
  4. Stir in the heavy cream and season with salt and pepper. Simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
  5. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley.

Notes

For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes and consider blending part of the soup for a thicker texture.
