Description

A comforting dish combining tender beef with savory mushrooms in a rich and creamy gravy, perfect for busy weeknights or family gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs beef stew meat or sirloin tips
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1 1/2 cups beef broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • Chopped parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a skillet. Add the beef tips and brown them on all sides. Remove the beef from the skillet and set it aside.
  2. In the same skillet, add the diced onions and sliced mushrooms. Sauté until softened. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 more minute.
  3. Sprinkle the flour over the cooked vegetables and stir for about 1 minute. Slowly whisk in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce.
  4. Return the browned beef to the skillet. Cover and let it simmer for 45–60 minutes until the beef is tender.
  5. Stir in the heavy cream and let it simmer uncovered for an additional 5 minutes. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving hot!

Notes

Choose good quality beef for better results. Let beef sit at room temperature before cooking for improved browning.
