  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon.
  3. In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract, mashed bananas, and sour cream until well combined.
  5. In a separate bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth.
  6. Pour half of the banana bread batter into the prepared loaf pan. Spread the cream cheese filling over the top, then pour the remaining batter on top.
  7. Bake for 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

Store wrapped in plastic wrap or aluminum foil at room temperature for up to 3 days. Refrigerate for up to a week or freeze for up to 3 months.
