- 1 large savoy cabbage
- 2 pounds lean ground beef
- 2 medium to large onions, chopped
- 2 tablespoons canola oil, olive oil, or butter
- 1 cup white or brown rice
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil and carefully blanch the cabbage leaves until soft, about 2-3 minutes. Remove the leaves and let them cool.
- In a skillet, heat the oil and sauté the onions until translucent.
- In a bowl, combine the ground beef, cooked rice, sautéed onions, and seasonings to taste.
- Place a portion of the meat mixture in the center of each cabbage leaf and roll tightly, tucking in the sides.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Arrange the rolls in a baking dish, seam-side down. Cover with foil and bake for about 45 minutes.
- Serve hot.
Notes
