A rich and delicious dessert combining white and dark chocolate mousse, perfect for any celebration.

- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar

- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup hot coffee or hot water
- 1 cup white chocolate chips
- 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream, divided
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for mousse)
- 1 cup dark chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup heavy cream (for ganache)
- 1 cup dark chocolate chips (for ganache)
- Optional: Chocolate shavings, curls, or sprinkles for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat the eggs, granulated sugar, and vegetable oil until smooth. Mix in the buttermilk and vanilla.
- Combine the wet and dry ingredients. Stir in the hot coffee until well mixed.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes. Let the cakes cool completely.
- For the white chocolate mousse, melt the white chocolate with 1/2 cup of cream over low heat. Let it cool slightly. Whip the remaining cream with sugar and fold it into the melted white chocolate.
- For the dark chocolate mousse, melt the dark chocolate with 1/2 cup of cream. Let it cool, then whip the remaining cream with sugar and fold it into the dark chocolate.
- To assemble the cake, place one layer on a plate and spread the white chocolate mousse on top. Add the second layer and spread the dark chocolate mousse on top.
- For the ganache, heat 1/2 cup heavy cream until it simmers. Pour it over the dark chocolate and stir until smooth. Pour the ganache over the cake.
- Refrigerate the cake for at least 2 hours. Garnish with chocolate shavings, curls, or sprinkles if desired.
Notes
Ensure all ingredients are at room temperature. Use high-quality chocolate for the best flavor. Don’t rush the chilling time.
