Description
A refreshing plant-based drink bursting with the fruity flavors of strawberries and creamy non-dairy milk, perfect for warm days.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound of finely diced strawberries (divided into 2 cups and 3/4 cup)
- 1/4 cup of cane or brown sugar
- Lemon juice (to taste)
- 2–3 cups of unsweetened non-dairy milk (soy, almond, or oat)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix 3/4 cup of diced strawberries with 1 tablespoon of sugar and set it aside.
- In a pot, combine the remaining 2 cups of strawberries, 3 tablespoons of sugar, and a splash of lemon juice. Heat over medium until bubbling. Lower the heat and stir for 10 minutes. Allow it to cool.
- In a glass, pour 2-3 tablespoons of the cooled strawberry syrup over ice. Add 3/4 cup of non-dairy milk, and top it with the activated strawberry mixture from the bowl.
- Adjust sweetness to your liking and enjoy!
Notes
Serve in tall glasses with ice, garnished with whole strawberries or a slice of lemon. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
