A delightful mix of cookie dough, chocolate, and peanut butter, perfect for summer or as a sweet dessert any time of the year.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (heat-treated)
- 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 4 Snickers bars (chopped)
- 4 Reese’s peanut butter cups (chopped)
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional for fudge swirl)
- 2 tbsp butter (optional for fudge swirl)
- 1/4 cup heavy cream (optional for fudge swirl)
- 2 tbsp corn syrup (optional for fudge swirl)
Instructions
- Make the Cookie Dough: In a bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth. Add the vanilla extract and salt, then mix in the heat-treated flour until everything is well combined. Fold in the mini chocolate chips. Chill the dough for 30 minutes, then break it into small, bite-sized pieces.
- Prepare the Ice Cream Base: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, sweetened condensed milk, and vanilla extract until everything is combined.
- Make the Fudge Swirl (optional): In a saucepan over low heat, melt the chocolate chips and butter together. Stir in the heavy cream and corn syrup, and cook until your mixture is smooth and thickened. Let it cool slightly.
- Churn the Ice Cream: Pour the ice cream mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions. This process usually takes about 20-25 minutes.
- Assemble the Ice Cream: Once the ice cream is churned, gently fold in the cookie dough pieces, chopped Snickers, and Reese’s peanut butter cups. If you’re using the fudge swirl, drizzle it in at this stage.
- Freeze: Transfer the ice cream to an airtight container and freeze for at least 4 hours, or until firm.
- Serve and Enjoy: Scoop out your Snickers & Reese’s Cookie Dough Ice Cream and enjoy this delicious, candy-filled frozen treat!
Notes
Ensure the flour is heat-treated to make it safe for the raw cookie dough. Customize the candies by adding your favorites or using different types of chocolate.
