Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a cake pan.
  2. For the brownie layers, mix melted butter and granulated sugar until combined. Add eggs, one at a time, along with vanilla extract.
  3. Stir in flour, cocoa powder, and salt until just combined.
  4. Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan and bake for 20-25 minutes.
  5. For the cookie dough layer, cream together softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until fluffy. Add in flour and mix until combined (do not bake this layer).
  6. Once the brownie layer is done, let it cool and then spread the cookie dough layer over it.
  7. Pour the remaining brownie batter over the cookie dough layer.
  8. Bake for an additional 25-30 minutes or until the center is set.
  9. Let cool completely before serving.

Notes

Make sure to measure your ingredients carefully for the best results. Let the brownie layer cool completely before adding the cookie dough layer to avoid melting it.
