- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon instant coffee beans dissolved in 2 tablespoons of hot water
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour a loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, beat together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, mix the buttermilk, vegetable oil, eggs, vanilla extract, and dissolved coffee until well combined.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Then, add the chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 55-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Once the cake is cool, drizzle the caramel sauce over the top.
Notes
For best results, ensure eggs and buttermilk are at room temperature. Do not overmix the batter after adding wet ingredients.
