- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until creamy.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Gradually blend in the dry ingredients until well incorporated.
- Stir in the chocolate chips and nuts (if using).
- Drop by rounded tablespoons onto ungreased baking sheets.
- Bake for 9-11 minutes or until the cookies are golden brown.
- Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
Make sure your butter is softened to room temperature for easy mixing. Don’t overmix the dough after adding the dry ingredients; this keeps the cookies tender.
