  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/4 cup honey

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a cake pan.
  2. Cream together granulated sugar and unsalted butter until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Mix in the buttermilk until well combined.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Let cool, then drizzle melted butter and honey on top and sprinkle with powdered sugar mixed with a bit of milk before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, try adding chopped nuts or raisins to the batter. Serve with ice cream or whipped cream.
