- 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cocoa powder
- 2 large eggs

- 2 tbsp red food coloring
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp white vinegar
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 4 cups powdered sugar, sifted
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Fresh rosemary sprigs
- Red candy-coated chocolates or cranberries
- Edible glitter or powdered sugar
- Optional: Ribbon or edible gold accents
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a Bundt pan or a ring-shaped pan.
- In a large bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder.
- In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, oil, buttermilk, food coloring, vanilla extract, and vinegar.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until smooth.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan, smoothing the top.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Beat the cream cheese and butter together until creamy and smooth.
- Gradually add the powdered sugar, one cup at a time, until fully incorporated.
- Mix in the vanilla extract and beat until light and fluffy.
- Place the cooled cake on a serving plate or cake stand and spread or pipe the cream cheese frosting evenly over the cake.
- Arrange the rosemary sprigs around the top of the cake to create a wreath-like effect.
- Add red candy-coated chocolates or cranberries as ‘berries.’
- Sprinkle edible glitter or powdered sugar lightly over the wreath for a snowy effect.
- Slice and serve this show-stopping cake.
Notes
Make sure your ingredients are at room temperature for better mixing. Use a piping bag for easy decoration.
