Description
A delightful dessert combining rich chocolate with a light and fluffy texture, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup chocolate ganache (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 10×15-inch baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly grease it.
- In a bowl, beat the eggs and sugar until fluffy. Mix in the melted butter and vanilla extract.
- Gradually add cocoa powder, flour, baking powder, and salt, then stir until combined.
- Pour the batter onto the baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Place a clean towel on the counter and sprinkle with powdered sugar. Flip the hot cake onto the towel, peel off parchment paper, and roll it up with the towel inside. Let it cool completely.
- In another bowl, beat the heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until stiff peaks form. Optionally, add chocolate ganache for richness.
- Unroll the cooled cake, spread the whipped cream evenly, then roll it back up (without the towel).
- Dust with powdered sugar, slice, and serve.
Notes
Make sure your eggs are at room temperature for better volume. Use parchment paper to prevent sticking. Don’t overbake!
