Ingredients

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 box vanilla pudding mix
  • 2 cups whipped cream or Cool Whip
  • Chocolate syrup for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven and prepare the chocolate cake mix according to the package instructions, using water and eggs as required. Pour the batter into a 9×13 inch pan.
  2. Bake the cake until done. Remove it from the oven and let it cool for about 15 minutes.
  3. Use the handle of a wooden spoon to poke holes all over the top of the cake.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk the vanilla pudding mix and milk together until it thickens. Pour the pudding evenly over the warm cake, making sure to fill the holes.
  5. Place the cake in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours to set properly.
  6. Spread the whipped cream over the top of the cake and drizzle with chocolate syrup just before serving.

Notes

Ensure the cake is cooled enough before poking holes. Feel free to use homemade whipped cream for a fresher flavor.
