Description

A delightful cake that combines rich chocolate flavor with bright orange zest, perfect for celebrations or indulgent treats.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup fresh orange juice
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp orange zest
  • 1 cup orange marmalade
  • 1/2 cup whipped cream
  • 1 cup dark chocolate, melted
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease your cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix the eggs, vegetable oil, orange juice, vanilla extract, and orange zest.
  4. Stir the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until fully combined.
  5. Pour the batter into your prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Once baked, allow the cakes to cool completely.
  7. To assemble, spread orange marmalade and whipped cream between the cake layers.
  8. For the ganache glaze, pour melted chocolate over the top of the cake.
  9. Decorate with orange slices before serving, and enjoy!

Notes

Store at room temperature for up to two days or in the fridge for up to a week. Can be frozen for up to three months.
