  • 5 tbsp (70g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 200g (7oz) dark chocolate, chopped
  • 2 cups (480ml) heavy cream, chilled
  • 3 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) heavy cream (for topping)
  • 1 tbsp powdered sugar (for topping)
  • Chocolate shavings, cocoa powder, or crushed Oreos (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Make the Oreo Base: Crush the Oreo cookies into fine crumbs and mix them with the melted butter. Press this mixture into a 9-inch springform pan and refrigerate it.
  2. Prepare the Chocolate Mousse: Melt the dark chocolate and let it cool slightly. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla until stiff peaks form. Carefully fold in the melted chocolate.
  3. Assemble the Cake: Spread the mousse over the chilled Oreo base. Refrigerate for 4-6 hours to allow it to set.
  4. Add the Topping: Whip the additional heavy cream with powdered sugar until soft peaks form. Spread this topping over the mousse and garnish with chocolate shavings, cocoa powder, or crushed Oreos.
  5. Serve and Enjoy: Remove the springform pan, slice the cake, and serve.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. For a twist, add a layer of fruit, like raspberries or strawberries, for added flavor.
