- 1 box chocolate cake mix (or homemade chocolate cake), baked and cooled
- 2 cups chocolate pudding (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 cup whipped cream (or whipped topping)
- 1 cup crushed mint Aero bars (or similar mint chocolate)
- 1 cup chocolate mint candies for garnish
- 1 1⁄2 cups heavy cream
- 3 tbsp powdered sugar
- 1 tsp peppermint extract
- A few drops of green food coloring (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the mint cream layer by whipping heavy cream in a large mixing bowl until soft peaks form. Gradually add powdered sugar and peppermint extract until stiff peaks form. Optionally, add green food coloring.
- Cut or crumble the baked chocolate cake into bite-sized pieces.
- In a trifle dish or large glass bowl, create layers starting with chocolate cake pieces, followed by chocolate pudding, crushed mint Aero bars, and a layer of mint cream.
- Repeat the layers until the dish is full, ensuring the top layer is mint cream.
- Garnish the trifle with extra crushed mint Aero bars, chocolate mint candies, and a dollop of whipped cream.
- Chill the trifle in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving.
Notes
Make the cake ahead of time and customize layers with different candies or fruits. Use a clear dish for presentation.
