- 3 large Eggs
- 2 cups All-purpose flour
- 2 tsp Baking soda
- Chocolate jimmie sprinkles
- 3/4 cup Cocoa powder, natural unsweetened
- 10 1/4 cups Powdered sugar
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 1/4 cups Shortening
- 2 cups Sugar
- 1 tsp Vanilla extract
- 1 cup Vegetable oil
- 3/4 cup Coffee
- 3 tbsp Espresso, instant powder
- 1 1/2 cups Butter, salted
- 3/4 cup Milk
- 15/16 cup Kahlua
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour your cake pans.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together shortening, butter, and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, mix together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with milk and coffee. Mix until combined.
- Stir in Kahlua and instant espresso powder.
- Pour the batter evenly into prepared cake pans and sprinkle chocolate jimmies on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool in pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
- Once cooled, frost with your choice of frosting and enjoy!

For the best results, ensure all ingredients are at room temperature and do not overmix the batter.
