- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 3/4 cups granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 cup Nutella
- 1 cup chopped hazelnuts
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (177°C) and grease three 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla to the dry ingredients and beat for 2 minutes.
- Stir in the boiling water until smooth.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes.
- Cool the cakes in pans for 10 minutes, then remove and cool completely.
- Spread Nutella between the cake layers and sprinkle with chopped hazelnuts.
- Whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla, and frost the top and sides of the cake.
- Garnish with more hazelnuts and refrigerate until serving.
Notes
For an enhanced flavor, use high-quality cocoa powder and hazelnuts. Allow the cakes to cool completely before frosting.
