Description

A rich, decadent dessert that layers thick, fudgy brownie with smooth ganache, perfect for chocolate lovers.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 oz semi-sweet chocolate, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the sugar until well combined. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Allow the cake to cool completely in the pan.
  5. In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it begins to simmer. Pour the hot cream over the chopped chocolate in a heatproof bowl. Let it sit for 2–3 minutes, then stir until smooth and glossy.
  6. Pour the ganache over the cooled brownie cake, spreading it evenly. Let the ganache set at room temperature or refrigerate for a firmer finish.
  7. Slice into squares or rectangles and serve. Optionally, top each slice with whipped cream, fresh berries, or powdered sugar.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or in the refrigerator for 1 week. For extra flavor, add nuts or a layer of peanut butter.
