Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Mix in granulated sugar until blended.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, stirring after each addition, then stir in vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder. Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
  5. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs. Let cool completely in the pan.
  6. For ganache topping, heat the heavy cream in a small saucepan until it simmers. Pour hot cream over chopped chocolate in a heatproof bowl, let sit for 2–3 minutes, then stir until smooth.
  7. Pour the ganache over the cooled brownie cake, spreading it evenly. Allow it to set at room temperature or refrigerate.
  8. Slice the cake and serve plain or with toppings like whipped cream or fresh berries.
