- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a baking pan.
- In a large bowl, melt the butter and stir in the sugar until well combined.
- Beat in the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then add the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.
- Bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool before serving.
Notes
Serve with vanilla ice cream or drizzle with melted chocolate or caramel sauce for an extra treat. Can add nuts or swirls of peanut butter for variations.
