A rich and creamy chocolate topping perfect for cakes, cupcakes, and cookies.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter (softened)
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup icing sugar (powdered sugar)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chocolate (melted)
  • 1/2 cup cream (warm)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, add the softened butter. Sift in the icing sugar and cocoa powder. Whip the mixture on high speed until light and fluffy.
  2. Add the vanilla extract and beat until well combined.
  3. Warm the cream slightly and mix it into the frosting mixture until smooth.
  4. Melt the chocolate and let it cool slightly. Add it to the frosting mixture and whisk until smooth.
  5. Refrigerate the frosting for 30–40 minutes to thicken into a spreadable consistency.

Notes

Store leftover frosting in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
