Description

A rich and indulgent dessert that combines fudginess of brownies with the elegance of a cake, topped with gooey chocolate ganache.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the sugar until well combined.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, and then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
  5. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  7. Let the cake cool completely in the pan.
  8. For the ganache, heat heavy cream over medium heat until simmering, then pour over chopped chocolate. Let sit for 2-3 minutes and whisk until smooth.
  9. Pour the ganache over the cooled brownie cake and spread evenly. Let it set for about 1 hour at room temperature or 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
  10. Slice into squares and serve.

Notes

Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream, and consider adding fresh berries or powdered sugar for garnish.
