- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt

- 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan. Line the bottom with parchment paper.
- In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Whisk in the sugar until combined. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder. Gradually add this mix to the wet mixture, stirring until smooth. Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs. Allow the cake to cool for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
- Heat the cream until it simmers, then pour it over the chopped chocolate. Let it sit for 5 minutes, then stir until smooth.
- Place the cooled cake on a plate and pour the ganache over it. Let the ganache set for 15-20 minutes before slicing.
Notes
For an extra fudgy texture, consider adding an additional 1/2 cup of chocolate chips to the batter.
