- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup chopped pecans (optional)
- 1 (8 oz) block cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 cup whipped topping (Cool Whip or homemade)
- 2 (3.9 oz) boxes instant chocolate pudding
- 3 cups cold milk
- 2 cups whipped topping (for topping)
- 1/4 cup chocolate shavings or cocoa powder (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix the flour, melted butter, and pecans together. Press the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Bake for 15 minutes, then allow it to cool completely.
- In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Fold in 1 cup of whipped topping, then spread this mixture over the cooled crust.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the pudding mix and cold milk until it thickens. Spread this mixture over the cream cheese layer.
- Evenly spread the remaining whipped topping over the pudding layer.
- Refrigerate the dessert for at least 120 minutes before serving. Garnish with chocolate shavings or cocoa powder.
Notes
For added flavor, consider adding sliced bananas or strawberries between layers.
