- 2 cups all-purpose flour (heat-treated for safety)
- 1 cup mini chocolate chips
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- Chocolate syrup for drizzling
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, mix together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes.
- Stir in boiling water (the batter will be thin).
- Pour the batter into the prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes. Let cool completely.
- In a medium bowl, beat butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until creamy. Add vanilla.
- Gradually mix in flour until combined, then stir in chocolate chips.
- In a mixing bowl, beat the butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar and mix until well combined.
- Add heavy cream and vanilla, and beat until smooth.
- Place one cake layer on a serving plate. Spread half of the cookie dough filling on top.
- Add the second cake layer on top. Frost the top and sides of the cake with the buttercream frosting.
- Drizzle with chocolate syrup and top with additional chocolate chips or cookie dough pieces, if desired.
- Slice, serve, and enjoy!
Notes
For a more intense chocolate flavor, use dark chocolate cocoa powder. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days.
