- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla until well combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients.
- Stir in the chocolate chips.
- In a separate bowl, mix the softened cream cheese with powdered sugar until smooth.
- To assemble the cookies, take a tablespoon of cookie dough, flatten it, and place a small dollop of the cream cheese mixture in the center. Encase the cream cheese by folding the dough around it and rolling it into a ball.
- Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden.
- Let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
Chill the dough for thicker cookies or experiment with different types of chocolate chips.
