- 1 pie crust (unbaked)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 2 eggs
- 5 ounces evaporated milk
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted and cooled
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon table salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In the bowl of a stand mixer, combine the sugar, cocoa powder, eggs, evaporated milk, melted butter, vanilla extract, and salt. Beat until smooth.
- Line a 9-inch pie pan with the unbaked pie crust and pour the chocolate filling into it.
- Bake for 50 to 55 minutes, until the center has a slight jiggle.
- Allow the pie to cool completely at room temperature, then chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours before serving. Serve chilled, optionally with whipped cream.
Notes
For an extra chocolate hit, sprinkle chocolate chips on top before baking. You can also add mint extract for a mint chocolate variation.
