  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add buttermilk, oil, eggs, and vanilla extract, mixing well.
  4. Gradually pour in hot coffee and mix until smooth.
  5. Pour batter into prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes. Let cool.
  6. For the cheesecake layer, reduce the oven temperature to 325°F (160°C). Beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth, then add egg, vanilla, and salt.
  7. Pour into a prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes. Let cool.
  8. For the frosting, beat softened butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar, cocoa powder, heavy cream, vanilla, and salt, beating until fluffy.
  9. Assemble the cake: Place one chocolate cake layer on a serving plate, add the cheesecake layer, spread frosting, then add the second cake layer and frost entirely.
  10. For the ganache, heat heavy cream until simmering, pour over chocolate chips and whisk until smooth. Drizzle over the cake.

Ensure all ingredients are at room temperature for a smoother batter. Let the cake and cheesecake layers cool completely before assembling.
