- 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- Add buttermilk, oil, eggs, and vanilla extract, mixing well.
- Gradually pour in hot coffee and mix until smooth.
- Pour batter into prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes. Let cool.
- For the cheesecake layer, reduce the oven temperature to 325°F (160°C). Beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth, then add egg, vanilla, and salt.
- Pour into a prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes. Let cool.
- For the frosting, beat softened butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar, cocoa powder, heavy cream, vanilla, and salt, beating until fluffy.
- Assemble the cake: Place one chocolate cake layer on a serving plate, add the cheesecake layer, spread frosting, then add the second cake layer and frost entirely.
- For the ganache, heat heavy cream until simmering, pour over chocolate chips and whisk until smooth. Drizzle over the cake.
