- 17 ounces dark chocolate Oreos
- 1/3 cup salted butter, melted
- 16 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup Dutch process cocoa powder
- 3/4 cup sour cream
- 3 large eggs
- 10 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 1/3 cups heavy cream
- Chocolate shavings (optional, for garnish)
- Chocolate squares (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9-inch springform pan.
- Crush the Oreos in a food processor until they are crumbled. Add the melted butter and pulse until combined. Press the mixture into the bottom of the pan and bake for 8-10 minutes. Let cool and then reduce the oven temperature to 325°F (165°C).
- In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and cocoa powder until smooth. Mix in the sour cream, then add the eggs one at a time. Pour this filling into the crust.
- Place the cheesecake in a water bath and bake for 55-75 minutes, or until set.
- After baking, cool the cheesecake for 1 hour in the oven, then refrigerate it overnight.
- To make the ganache, heat the heavy cream and pour it over the chocolate chips. Whisk until smooth.
- Pour the ganache over the cheesecake, let it cool, garnish if desired, slice into 10 servings, and enjoy!
Notes
Serve chilled and consider adding chocolate shavings or squares for garnish. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
