- 4 large eggs
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar

- 1 cup dulce de leche or thick caramel sauce
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips or chopped dark chocolate
- 1/2 cup heavy cream (for ganache)
- Caramel buttercream (optional, for decoration)

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 10×15-inch baking tray with parchment paper.
- Sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl.
- Beat eggs and sugar in a large mixing bowl until pale, thick, and fluffy (5-7 minutes). Add vanilla extract and vegetable oil.
- Gently fold in the sifted dry ingredients until fully combined.
- Spread the batter evenly onto the baking tray and bake for 10-12 minutes.
- Turn the cake onto a clean kitchen towel dusted with cocoa powder, peel off parchment paper, and roll up from the short end. Allow it to cool completely.
- In a chilled bowl, whip heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until soft peaks form. Gently fold in dulce de leche until smooth.
- Unroll the cooled sponge cake and spread the caramel cream filling evenly. Roll the cake back up and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- Heat heavy cream until just simmering, pour over chocolate, let sit for 2-3 minutes, then stir until smooth to prepare ganache.
- Pour ganache over the cake, chill briefly, and decorate with buttercream and caramel drizzle if desired. Slice and serve chilled or at room temperature.
Notes
Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for about 3-4 days, or freeze tightly wrapped for up to a month.
