Description

Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups (220g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups (300g) granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup (75g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup (240ml) whole milk
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add the eggs, milk, and oil to the dry ingredients. Mix until well combined.
  4. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans.
  5. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cakes comes out clean.
  6. Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For added flavor, you can mix in chocolate chips or nuts to the batter. Serve with toppings like powdered sugar or chocolate frosting.
