Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup milk
  • 200g dark chocolate, melted
  • 1 tsp baking powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour an 8-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, and baking powder.
  3. In a separate bowl, melt the butter and dark chocolate together until smooth and let it cool slightly.
  4. Add the milk to the cooled chocolate-butter mixture and stir until combined.
  5. Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, mixing until smooth.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Slice and enjoy as is, or top it with powdered sugar, melted chocolate, or whipped cream.

Notes

Make sure the ingredients are at room temperature for best results. Consider adding a splash of vanilla extract for richer flavor.
