- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup milk
- 200g dark chocolate, melted
- 1 tsp baking powder
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour an 8-inch round cake pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, and baking powder.
- In a separate bowl, melt the butter and dark chocolate together until smooth and let it cool slightly.
- Add the milk to the cooled chocolate-butter mixture and stir until combined.
- Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, mixing until smooth.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Slice and enjoy as is, or top it with powdered sugar, melted chocolate, or whipped cream.
Notes
Make sure the ingredients are at room temperature for best results. Consider adding a splash of vanilla extract for richer flavor.
