  • 1/4 cup whole milk (plus more as needed)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy.
  2. Gradually add the powdered sugar and cocoa powder, mixing until combined.
  3. Add the vanilla extract and salt, and mix again.
  4. Slowly add the whole milk, one tablespoon at a time, until the desired consistency is reached.
  5. Beat the frosting on high speed for 1-2 minutes until light and fluffy.
  6. Use immediately on cakes or cupcakes, or store in the refrigerator until ready to use.

Notes

For a richer chocolate flavor, consider adding more cocoa powder. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
