Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 4 oz semi-sweet chocolate (chopped)
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8-inch round cake pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Add eggs, one at a time, and then vanilla extract. Mix until fully combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined and stir in chocolate chips.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  5. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  6. In a saucepan, heat heavy cream until simmering. Remove from heat and stir in chopped chocolate and butter until smooth.
  7. Once the cake has cooled, pour the ganache over the top, letting it drip down the sides.
  8. Slice and enjoy the rich, fudgy goodness of this cake!

Notes
