Description

A delightful dessert that layers rich chocolate mousses made from dark, milk, and white chocolate, topped with a decadent ganache.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups chocolate cookie crumbs
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup dark chocolate, melted
  • 1 cup milk chocolate, melted
  • 1 cup white chocolate, melted
  • 3 cups heavy cream, divided
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar (for each mousse layer)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream (for ganache)
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9-inch springform pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, combine the chocolate cookie crumbs and melted butter. Press this mixture firmly into the bottom of the pan to create a solid crust. Bake for 8-10 minutes, then let it cool completely on a wire rack.
  3. In separate bowls, whip 1 cup of heavy cream for each mousse layer until soft peaks form.
  4. Melt the dark, milk, and white chocolate in separate bowls. Stir in 1/4 cup powdered sugar into each chocolate bowl.
  5. Gently fold the corresponding whipped cream into each chocolate mixture until light and fluffy.
  6. Once the crust has cooled, spoon the dark chocolate mousse onto the crust and smooth it out. Add a layer of milk chocolate mousse, smoothing it evenly, and finish with the white chocolate mousse on top.
  7. Refrigerate the assembled cake for at least 3 hours or until firm.
  8. To make the ganache, heat 1/2 cup heavy cream in a saucepan until it just begins to simmer. Pour it over the chopped dark chocolate, let it sit for 2-3 minutes, then stir until smooth.
  9. Drizzle the ganache over the chilled cake and serve.

Notes

Use high-quality chocolate for the best flavor and allow the crust to cool completely before adding mousse layers.
