Chicken Souvlaki Lettuce Wraps

Description

Healthy and tasty grilled chicken wrapped in crisp lettuce leaves with fresh veggies and sauces.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts (or thighs), cut into bite-size pieces
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • Lettuce leaves for wrapping
  • Optional toppings: diced tomatoes, cucumber, tzatziki sauce

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, oregano, and cumin. Mix well.
  2. Add the chicken pieces to the marinade and let them marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat a grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.
  4. Thread the marinated chicken onto skewers.
  5. Grill the chicken skewers for about 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally, until fully cooked.
  6. Remove from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes.
  7. To serve, place grilled chicken onto lettuce leaves and add optional toppings as desired.
  8. Wrap the lettuce around the filling and enjoy.

Notes

Let the chicken marinate longer for a stronger flavor. Use different lettuce types for variety.
