Description
A flavorful dish combining tender chicken with savory ham and melted Swiss cheese, coated in a crispy crust, and served with a creamy Swiss cheese sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 chicken breasts
- 4 slices of ham
- 4 Swiss cheese rolls
- 1 cup of grated bread
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup of flour
- 4 tablespoons of butter
- 1 cup of milk
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Place chicken breasts between film and crush until thin. Season with salt and pepper.
- Place a slice of ham and Swiss cheese on each chicken breast, roll tightly, and secure with chopsticks or dental floss.
- Coat each chicken roll in flour, dip in beaten eggs, and coat with grated bread.
- Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a skillet over medium heat. Cook chicken rolls until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side, then transfer to a baking tray.
- Bake the chicken rolls for 20-25 minutes until fully cooked (internal temperature 75°C/165°F).
- For the sauce, melt remaining butter in a saucepan, add flour, and cook for 1-2 minutes. Gradually whisk in milk, cooking until thickened. Add garlic powder and Swiss cheese; stir until melted and smooth. Season with salt and pepper.
- Remove chicken from the oven, discard securing tools, slice if desired, and serve hot with Swiss cheese sauce.
Notes
Ensure chicken is pounded evenly for uniform cooking. Experiment with different cheeses or hams for variety.
