Description

Delightful homemade nougat bars with chewy textures and a mix of nuts and dried fruits.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups white chocolate chips (or chopped white chocolate)
  • 2 cups mini marshmallows
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup mixed dried fruits (such as dried apricots, cherries, pineapple, and papaya)
  • 1 cup mixed nuts (such as almonds, pistachios, and cashews)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper, leaving overhang for easy removal.
  2. In a large saucepan over low heat, combine white chocolate chips, mini marshmallows, and sweetened condensed milk. Stir continuously until melted and smooth.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract. Fold in mixed dried fruits and nuts until evenly distributed.
  4. Pour the nougat mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly, and press down firmly to create an even layer.
  5. Allow to cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes. Then refrigerate for at least 2 hours until fully set.
  6. Once set, lift nougat out using the parchment paper overhang and cut into bars or squares.

Notes

Serve with coffee or tea. Can be packaged as gifts.
