- 2 cups fresh cherries, pitted
- 1 cup spelt flour
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Vanilla ice cream (for serving)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine the pitted cherries, half of the brown sugar, and cinnamon. Spread the cherry mixture evenly in a baking dish.
- In another bowl, mix the spelt flour, rolled oats, remaining brown sugar, melted butter, and salt until crumbly.
- Sprinkle the crumble mixture over the cherries in the baking dish.
- Bake for 20 minutes, or until the crumble is golden and the cherries are bubbly.
- Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Notes
Make sure to pit the cherries well. You can use frozen cherries if fresh ones are not available; just thaw and drain them.
