Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp yellow mustard
  • Salt & black pepper, to taste
  • 4 burger buns
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Chopped parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with the onion and garlic until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
  2. Stir in the ketchup, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 8–10 minutes until thickened.
  3. Lightly toast the burger buns.
  4. Spoon the sloppy joe mixture onto the bottom buns. Top generously with shredded cheddar cheese.
  5. Broil for 1–2 minutes until the cheese melts. Add top buns and garnish with parsley.

Notes

Use lean ground beef for a healthier option. Try different cheeses for variety.
