Description

Deliciously crispy onion rings filled with gooey mozzarella cheese, perfect as an appetizer or snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large onion, cut into thick rings
  • Mozzarella cheese, cut into strips
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • Oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. Pair similar-sized onion rings and stuff the space between them with mozzarella strips. Freeze for 20 minutes.
  2. Dredge each ring in flour, dip it in beaten egg, and coat it with panko breadcrumbs. Repeat for a thicker crust.
  3. Heat oil to 350°F (175°C) and fry the rings in batches for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  4. Drain on paper towels, season with salt, and serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

For a creamier texture, use fresh mozzarella cheese. You can also add spices like garlic powder or paprika to the coating.
