Description

A comforting casserole combining cheesy goodness, savory pepperoni, and tender pasta, perfect for busy weeknights.


Ingredients

  • 12 oz pasta (penne or rotini)
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup sliced pepperoni
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil and cook the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked pasta, marinara sauce, 1 cup of mozzarella cheese, sliced pepperoni, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  4. Pour the pasta mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  5. Top with the remaining mozzarella cheese and grated Parmesan cheese.
  6. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes.
  7. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  8. Remove from the oven, let cool for a few minutes, and garnish with fresh basil if desired. Serve warm.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. This dish can also be frozen for up to 2 months.
