Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- Pinch of salt (optional, to taste)
- 4 graham crackers, chopped into 1/2-inch pieces
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
- 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with aluminum foil and spray it with cooking spray for easy cleanup.
- In a large, microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter in the microwave (about 1 minute) and let it cool slightly before adding the egg.
- Whisk in the egg, brown sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
- Stir in the flour and optional salt until just combined; be careful not to overmix.
- Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
- Sprinkle the chopped graham cracker pieces evenly over the top.
- Add the chocolate chips on top of the graham crackers.
- In the same bowl, combine the sweetened condensed milk and peanut butter; whisk until smooth.
- Pour the peanut butter mixture evenly over the bars and smooth the top lightly.
- Bake for about 28-31 minutes, or until the top is set and slightly golden.
- Allow the bars to cool in the pan for at least 3 hours before slicing into 9 pieces.
Notes
Let the bars cool completely for the best texture. Store them in an airtight container or freeze for longer shelf life.
