- 1 sleeve buttery round crackers (like Ritz), crushed
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup toffee bits
- Sea salt flakes, for topping
Instructions
- Line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper and lightly grease it.
- Spread the crushed crackers evenly in the bottom of the dish and set aside.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
- Stir in brown sugar, granulated sugar, and heavy cream.
- Bring the mixture to a gentle boil, stirring constantly for 4–5 minutes until thickened.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
- Pour the caramel mixture over the cracker base and spread evenly.
- Sprinkle the chocolate chips evenly over the hot caramel.
- Let sit for 2–3 minutes until melted, then spread the chocolate into an even layer.
- Sprinkle toffee bits and sea salt flakes on top.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or until fully set.
- Cut into bars and enjoy!
Notes
For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate chips instead of semi-sweet ones. Feel free to customize toppings with mini marshmallows or a peanut butter drizzle.
