Description
A decadent dessert that combines rich chocolate brownies, creamy cheesecake, and a drizzle of caramel.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 box brownie mix (plus ingredients to prepare as directed)
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
- 24 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- Sea salt (for sprinkling)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C). Grease a 9-inch springform pan.
- Prepare the brownie mix according to the package instructions. If you like, fold in the chocolate chips. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly.
- In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each. Stir in the vanilla extract and sour cream until fully combined.
- Pour the cheesecake filling over the cooled brownie layer in the springform pan and spread it evenly.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the center is set with a slight jiggle. Turn off the oven and leave the cheesecake inside with the door ajar for 1 hour.
- Remove the cheesecake from the oven and let it cool to room temperature. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight before serving.
- Before serving, drizzle the top with caramel sauce and sprinkle with sea salt. Carefully remove the springform pan, slice, and serve chilled.
Notes
For a richer flavor, add a touch of espresso powder to the brownie mix. Customize with toppings like crushed nuts or chocolate shavings.
